A key intersection in central Maryborough has been upgraded to improve safety for motorists and pedestrians thanks to the Allan Labor Government.
New line marking and signage will limit traffic to left turns only from both sides of Nolan Street onto Napier Street.
Double lines have also been installed across the exit of the service station to limit motorists to left turns onto Napier Street.
The works will significantly reduce the risk of collisions, addressing previous crash history and community feedback about the intersection.
In the last five years, there have been four reported crashes at this location involving vehicles driving across Napier Street.
Motorists can use the roundabouts at Pyrenees Highway or Inkerman Street as alternatives to turn right on to Napier Street.
