The Allan Labor Government is continuing to deliver important upgrades to health services in the Loddon Mallee, with the completion of new, state-of-the-art facilities in Inglewood.
Member for Ripon Martha Haylett today announced the completion of a new health precinct at the Inglewood and Districts Health Service, featuring a new gymnasium for rehabilitation treatment, and new purpose-built student accommodation.
Funded by the Regional Health Infrastructure Fund (RHIF), the $2.4 million project will open in coming weeks, improving the region’s access access to services including strength training, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and podiatry.
The addition of a new modern three-bed student accommodation facility will ensure a comfortable and convenient place for medical, nursing and allied health students to stay during training and work placements, and features private bedrooms, communal living, kitchen and dining areas along with landscaped gardens.
The new allied health precinct coincides with the completion of the Outdoor Environment Redevelopment project at the Inglewood and Districts Health Services residential aged care facility – the RHIF project has delivered upgraded outdoor areas including a new outdoor kitchen, pathways, landscaping and dementia-friendly facilities.
Worth more than $790 million, RHIF has funded more than 630 projects for regional health services since 2015 – the largest investment ever dedicated to our rural and regional health services, ensuring communities right across the state receive efficient care.
Applications to the eighth round of the RHIF recently closed, with more than 120 health services and agencies eligible, the recipients for the latest round of funding will be announced in the coming weeks.
