Fans of local favourites Laanecoorie Dunolly Cricket Club and Dunolly Football Netball Club can keep up with all the latest action, thanks to their new electronic scoreboard at Deledio Reserve.

Member for Ripon Martha Haylett MP today joined representatives from the clubs and Central Goldfields Shire to officially launch the new scoreboard, made possible by a $25,000 investment from the Victorian Government’s Local Sports Infrastructure Fund.

Sport is the lifeblood of regional communities like Dunolly and the new scoreboard opens a range of new possibilities for local sport.

The scoreboard adds a whole new dimension to the player and fan experience at the ground, providing clubs and future champions the chance to showcase their achievements on the big screen.

There’s also an opportunity for local community groups and businesses to take advantage of the scoreboard to broadcast local initiatives, upcoming events, and promotions. In the event of emergencies, the new scoreboard can also be used to communicate critical information – helping to keep the Dunolly community safe and informed.

The Victorian Budget 2022/23 provided $88 million to deliver new and improved community sports infrastructure and programs to boost participation in local sports clubs and organisations.

This brings the Victorian Government’s investment into community sport and active recreation infrastructure to more than $1.6 billion since 2014.

Investments like these are all about creating jobs, stimulating local economies, levelling the playing field, and improving the health, wellbeing, and social outcomes for Victorian communities.

Martha Haylett MP acknowledged the Maldon Branch of Bendigo Bank for its contribution of $12,000, and the Laanecoorie Dunolly Cricket Club and Dunolly Football Netball Club for their contribution and fundraising of more than $100,000.
