Seven grassroots sport and active recreation organisations across Ripon are set to bolster their coaching skills and administration expertise, or score new sports equipment thanks to a share in more than $10,000 from the Andrews Labor Government. 

Member for Ripon Martha Haylett today announced the successful local applicants of the latest round of the Victorian Government’s Sporting Club Grants Program

The grants provide clubs up to $1,000 for new uniforms and equipment, up to $2,000 for training coaches, officials, and volunteers, and up to $5,000 to improve club operational effectiveness. 

Grant recipients in Ripon include: 

  • Ararat Basketball Association Inc. - $1000  
  • Ararat Motorcycle Club Inc. - $1000   
  • Beaufort and District Pony Club - $990  
  • Bridgewater Cricket Club - $1000  
  • Maryborough VRI Croquet Club - $1000 
  • St Arnaud Netball Club Corporation - $1000 
  • Maryborough Swimming Club Inc - $5000  

The Program is part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to making community sport more accessible and inclusive, stimulating local economies, building sustainable sport and recreation and volunteer opportunities, and increasing local participation. 

Since 2015, the Sporting Club Grants Program has invested more than $15.5 million to support clubs and their volunteers across the state in positive and trying times. For more information on the grants and a full list of recipients, visit sport.vic.gov.au.
