Water play and fitness fun is set to go to the next level at the St Arnaud Swimming Pool with recent State Labor Government backed redevelopment works now complete.

Member for Ripon Martha Haylett today joined Northern Grampians Shire Mayor, Cr Karen Hyslop to officially open the new facilities at the local pool, made possible by more than $1.94 million from the Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund.

With growing demand for modern aquatic and leisure facilities, the new centre facilities are a game changer.

Pool patrons can now enjoy change room and amenity improvements, as well as a new dedicated first aid and kiosk area, and all-abilities family friendly changeroom.

The new facilities give more people the chance to enjoy a splash and will help locals boost their fitness and wellbeing through a range of activities including lap swimming and casual play.

Future works will include upgrades to the pool’s aquatic system with new hydraulics, balance tank and filtration, new wet deck, and entry ramp to the 50 metre pool.

The Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund is supported by the Regional Community Sport Development Fund and the All Abilities Sport Fund and is a game-changer for regional Victoria with 67 infrastructure projects and eight participation initiatives supported.

It’s part of more than $2.4 billion invested by the Labor Government in community sports infrastructure since 2014.

The Victorian Budget 2025/26 is also investing $20 million to continue providing new and improved community sports infrastructure through initiatives like the statewide Local Sports Infrastructure Fund.

Investments like these are all about creating jobs, stimulating local economies, and improving the health, wellbeing, and social outcomes for Victorian communities.

Martha Haylett acknowledged the Northern Grampians Shire for its $650,000 contribution and commitment to delivering the project.
