The Albanese and Allan Labor Governments are making a busy Streatham intersection safer for all drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.
Work is now underway on the construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Eurambeen-Streatham Road, the Glenelg Highway Woorndoo-Streatham Road.
The new roundabout will slow traffic on approach to the roundabout and help drivers choose a safe time to travel through the intersection.
The speed limit will also be reduced from 100 km/h to 80 km/h on all four legs of the roundabout along with installation of street lighting to improve visibility at night.
Construction of the intersection will take around six months with crews on site from Monday to Friday.
While works are underway, a reduced speed limit will be in place for the safety of crews and other road users.
This jointly funded project is a part of the Governments’ Safer Intersections program.
